Sleep has become a precious commodity – we love it and need it, but rarely get enough of it. Busy schedules, kids, anxiety and technology can all get in the way of a good night's sleep. Getting enough sleep can play an important role in your weight, emotional well-being, blood pressure, diabetes, mental and physical performance, and more. Here's a quick guide to using the Shido App to help you master your sleep:

Just track your day’s food in the Log Food & Activities section of the app and at the end of the day go to the Nutriscore section and make sure you are hitting your target on the sleep-inducing nutrients you need.
Even small amounts of exercise have been shown to improve poor sleep. Being more physically active during the day should organically make the body more fatigued and hungry for sleep at the end of the day.

It’s important to do more stimulating forms of exercise earlier in the day as the stimulation so close to bedtime can make it more difficult to sleep. If the only time you can exercise is in the evening opt for low-impact exercises such as yoga, pilates or walking.
Don’t forget that it is also helpful to set goals and track your movement progress. Whether you are a keen walker who is focused on step count or a gym bunny who wants to hit a weekly goal, we can track it. Go to the Log Food & Activities area and choose to track your step count, exercise goals or both. Time to get moving!

Strong sleep hygiene means having both a bedroom environment and daily routines that promote consistent, uninterrupted sleep.
